Following the current government guidelines, we will be required to operate in a different manner than usual to ensure we protect guests and ourselves.     

We’ve been awarded accreditation from Visit England and AA confirming our compliance with government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, which ensure we have the processes in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social/physical distancing. 

Terms

  • Free cancellation for any guests cancelling due to the inset of Coronavirus symptoms prior to arrival. No shows will be charged the full amount due.
  • Guest who develop symptoms after arrival are expected to make every effort to return home as soon as possible to begin self-isolation with all members of their party. In this case we will move your remaining reservation free of charge to an alternative date.   
  • If guests are unable to travel home and are then required to isolate here at Lavinia House, you will be responsible for lost revenue to the business plus any additional costs relating to provisions for your stay - please check your travel insurance prior to arrival to see if you are covered for this eventuality.
  • If we are unable to fulfil your booking and have to cancel your stay due to our illness or a need for a guest to self-isolate on site, we will endeavour to re-locate you to an alternative property.                                                                                                                                                                         

Check-in

 

  • We operate a key-less entry system and the entry code will be sent via text message on the day you are due to arrive. If you need to contact us, please reply to the number you receive your text on. 
  • You will be required to take your own bags and property to and from your rooms on arrival and departure.

Payment

We are using the automated payment process as much as possible, however we also realise that guests may wish to pay in different ways. We can be flexible with payments before or on the day of arrival. You will be asked to settle your bill in 1 of 3 ways.

  • Cash - exact money in an envelope placed on the desk in the office on the ground floor.
  • Online payment taken by us using the Stripe System connected to the booking platform. This requires a valid credit/debit card to have been entered. This is usually done at the time of booking (Unless booking through booking.com), or alternatively contact us with your card details. This system in PCI Compliant and your card details are fully secure.
  • Pre-pay online via BACS using your surname and arrival date as the reference.

Cleaning changes

Guest rooms:

  • Cleaning of rooms will be carried out once guest have checked out by the owner wearing the appropriate PPE.
  • General cleaning of all rooms to include the use of antibacterial wipes and sprays on hard surfaces.
  • Hand contact surfaces to be disinfected when a guest checks out to include, but not limited to the following:
  • Keys and fobs
  • Door handles inside and out
  • Light switches
  • Lamps
  • Bedside tables
  • Drawer handles
  • Remote controls
  • Window handles / catches
  • Hair dryers
  • Wardrobe doors
  • Kettle handle and lid
  • Radiator controls
  • Taps
  • Flush handles
  • Shower cubicle
  • Hospitality trays

Laundry

  • Bed lined, duvets, mattress protectors, sheets, pillowcases, pillowcase protectors to be removed and washed at 60*C on a standard wash then tumble dried and left for a minimum of 3 days before ironing and reusing.
  • Cleaned laundry items to be stored away from guests.
  • Used towels to be washed and stored for at least 3 days before reusing.

Communal areas

  • Regular cleaning throughout the day of common areas with anti-bacterial spray / wipes to include main door handles, light switches, stair bannister and all other accessible hard surfaces.
  • Hand sanitiser to be used prior to entry into the house (automatic dispenser located by front door). 

Facilities in rooms

During your stay we will not be servicing your room.  Although Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, Covid-19 is still very active and contagious. With this in mind and to minimise risk to guests and staff of any cross contamination, during your stay we will not be servicing rooms. This means that we will not be entering rooms to empty bins, replenish hospitality trays, change towels or tidy beds. If you need any of these services, please follow this guidance:

  • If your bins need emptying, then leave the bin (not just the bag) outside your room before 11am and we will empty it and insert a new bag.
  • If you would like more items for your hospitality tray, please leave the tray outside your room before 11am and we will replenish it for you.
  • Although Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, covid 19 is still very active and contagious. Due to advice from the government and industry professionals we may be removing the following items, listed in our facilities details, from your rooms:

  • Guest information book
  • Visitors guides and leaflets from Visit Yorkshire - this information can be found electronically at https://www.yorkshire.com/
  • Clock radios

We will not be removing the following items, but would ask if you require them to be removed from the room that you contact us prior to your arrival:

  • Kettle
  • Mugs and spoons
  • Hospitality tray with tea/coffee/sugar/milk/biscuits/bottled water
  • Hair dryer
  • Complimentary toiletries - shower gel, hand wash and shampoo
  • TV and remote control

We will not be providing the following items in your room, which you may wish to bring along yourselves:

  • Anti-bacterial wipes
  • Any form of PPE - masks, gloves, aprons etc

Expectations from guests.

  • Not to travel if you develop symptoms of Covid-19 (As advised by the government and NHS)
  • Guests showing any signs of Covid-19 are to return home, book a Covid-19 test and self-isolate for 7 to 14 days.
  • Inform us immediately if you develop any coronavirus symptoms during your stay - 01947 602945    
  • To be respectful of the need for social distance with other guests and owners.
  • To keep movement around the house to a minimum and maintain 2m social distancing. This may mean waiting for other guests to come down the stairs  or exit the house. Please do not cross guests on the stairs.
  • To follow government advice to wash hands regularly or use hand sanitiser.
